For the past 1,188 days, Amazon Prime Video has played host to the airing of The Summer I Turned Pretty.  A show based on the East Coast, starring Lola Tung, Christopher Briney, and Gavin Casalegno, The Summer I Turned Pretty broke records this summer.  After two phenomenal seasons, the final season aired this summer with weekly episodes.  Each week, fans came together to watch an episode on Wednesday mornings.  Following each episode, fans took to the internet to recap, discuss, and share their thoughts on TikTok.  The most heated discussion topic: Whose team are you on? Jeremiah or Conrad.

     In the first two seasons, viewers watched as Jenny Han, author and producer of The Summer I Turned Pretty, depicted the strengths and weaknesses of brothers Jeremiah and Conrad through the narration of protagonist, Belly.  In this recent season, Belly was faced with finally choosing between the two boys.  So, who do WHS students think she should have picked?

     When asked her side, Sophomore Kelsie Maurer (‘28) was decisive.  Maurer declared, “Conrad, because he is the nicer brother to Belly, he is the smarter brother since Jeremiah couldn’t even graduate college, and Conrad waited for Belly for four years while Jeremiah cheated on her after one week.” 

     Hannah Kim (‘28) agreed and added, “I think Conrad is better because he genuinely cares for Belly and acts more mature than Jeremiah. Jeremiah is fueled by jealousy and constantly wants to beat Conrad.”

      Offering some defense for Team Jeremiah, Anisha Agrawal (‘26) says, “A reason why someone could prefer Jeremiah is because he’s a chef, and most people really like food. I know I do.” 

        With many unique opinions on which brother Belly should have picked across the internet, it is hard to say which side is the right side. Wissahickon students, who should Belly have chosen?
